Abstract The 15-acre Revere Textile Prints site is an industrial facility, located in Sterling, Windham County, Connecticut. From 1879 to 1980, several textile processing facilities used the site to print colored and patterned fabrics, which involved using pigments, dyes, and solvents. Throughout the site's history, process rinse water and leftover printing pigments were disposed of into floor drains that drained into Moosup River. In 1980, the state ordered the PRP to dispose of the 1,500 drums offsite along with an unspecified amount of stained soils; the action was completed in 1983. Between 1982 and 1983, W. F. Norman Company purchased the site for metal stamping operations, and subsequently abandoned the site. The ROD addresses site soil, sediment, ground water, and surface water. The results of the RI have shown no evidence of significant site contamination, and where contaminants were detected, the levels were usually significantly below the federal MCLs.
