| Abstract |
The project consisted of two independent studies. The first was a case study of the water management problems in the Gallatin Valley, Montana. The second was primarily a survey of industrial water use in the state of Montana. The systems analysis approach was used in the Gallatin Valley study; system boundaries defined, interacting variables identified, and reasonable parameter values determined. The linear programming format was selected on the basis that the Gallatin Valley water system has an approximately linear response. The basic objective of the survey was to record all water use by industry sources and to estimate future needs of industry. (Author) |
