| Abstract |
This report summarizes data collected as part of the Regional Environmental Monitoring and Assessment Program (R-EMAP). This REMAP project is a cooperative effort between the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Office of Research and Development, EPA Region 10, the Washington Department of Ecology (Ecology), and the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (ODEQ). In this project we will be discussing two sub-ecoregions of the Cascades ecoregion, the Western Cascades Lowlands and Valleys sub-ecoregion and the Western Cascades Montane Highlands sub-ecoregion (Pater et al, 1998). The purposes of this report are to: assess and report on the condition of small streams in the Western Cascades ecoregion of Oregon and Washington; and compare the overall condition of small streams in the Western Cascades ecoregion to selected streams with minimum levels of human disturbance (reference sites). |
