Abstract The report represents an overview of the EPA's Storm and Combined Sewer Pollution Control Research Program performed over a 20-year period beginning with the mid-1960s. It covers Program involvements in the development of a diverse technology including pollution-problem assessment/solution methodology and associated instrumentation and stormwater management models, best management practices, erosion control, infiltration/inflow control, control-treatment technology and the associated sludge and solids residuals handling, and many others. The report is a handy reference for the user community faced with the challenges and mandates to combat urban wet-weather-induced water pollution. It comprises the gamut of environmental engineering requirements from pollution problem assessment to management and control planning and design.
