This document contains guidelines on the environmental management of alumina production and to fulfill one of United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) goals to reduce the adverse environmental impact of specific industries. These guidelines identify the major environmentally-related issues in the mining of aluminum ores and in the production of alumina, and provide guidance on action to be taken in environmental management of the industry. |
