Abstract |
The WIN/INFORMED initiative is an information reinvention project established jointly by the States and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The objective of this initiative is to reassess the information needs of the hazardous waste management program operating under Subtitle C of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA). Through WIN/INFORMED, EPA and States aim to jointly identify, and share where appropriate, the information needed to effectively manage the RCRA program. To achieve this goal, strategic planning for the WIN/INFORMED initiative focused on dividing the RCRA program into five logical groupings of program functions and information needs, termed program areas. These are: - Universe Identification (UID) - Waste Activity Monitoring (WAM) - Handler Monitoring and Assistance (HMA) - Permitting and Corrective Action (PCA) - Program Evaluation (PE). |
