Abstract In this document, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) analyzes the potential economic impacts of the proposed Review of New Sources and Modifications in Indian Country, hereafter referred to as the proposed rule. The proposed rule potentially affects new minor sources, modified minor sources, minor modifications to existing major sources, and sources accepting emissions limitations to become synthetic minor sources. In addition, the proposed rule establishes nonattainment New Source Review for major sources and major modifications to major sources in Indian Country. Because the rule affects sources that have not yet been created, EPA does not have data on what sources or companies will actually be affected. Instead, EPA estimated the number of each source type that would be affected over the analysis period (2004 through 2010). EPA's analysis relies on assumptions that future facilities will resemble existing facilities, and future parent companies will resemble existing parent companies. Overall, EPA estimates that the total annualized costs of compliance for industry affected by the proposed rule will be approximately $6 million per year.
Notes "August 2006." "EPA 452/R-06-004." PB2006-114607. Project officer: Lillian Bradley. "Prepared for: U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Air Benefit and Cost Group, Research Triangle Park, North Carolina." "Based upon our evaluation of current Tribal emission inventories and the application of updated growth rates, we have determined that the analysis has not changed significantly to date; therefore, the May 2003 analysis for the period 2004-2010 remains valid for the EIA and the associated ICR supporting statement. This analysis will be updated for the final rulemaking." 68-D-99-024
