Abstract |
Buoyant Line and Point Source Model (BLP) is a Gaussian plume dispersion model designed to handle unique modeling problems associated with aluminum reduction plants, and other industrial sources where plume rise and downwash effects from stationary line sources are important. The model consists of three computer programs. The other two programs are a postprocessor called POSTBLP and a merging program called BLPSUM, which merges two BLP output files into one file for input to POSTBLP. The BLP model and associated programs have been compiled and executed on an IBM-PC compatible using the Lahey Fortran 90 compiler (LF90 version 4.5I). Meteorological data can be entered into BLP as either a separate preprocessed input file (PMD) or as hourly meteorological data in text format at the end of the input run stream (up to 24 hours). The PMD used in the test case is the 1964 Pittsburgh, PA, meteorological data used as input with a number of model test cases, and is included in the BLP file. BLP was changed to read Industrial Source Complex Model (ISCST) type meteorological data in ASCII format. Conversion of meteorological data to a binary format is no longer needed and is no longer supported in the model. |
