"Precipitation of lead ions and an ion exchange process were investigated as methods for removing lead from propellant plant waste water streams. Although the ion exchange process surpasses the precipitation methods for lead removal, the latter results in a reduction of BOD, COD, sulfate, total solids, suspended solids, and hardness. The use of both systems in tandem is recommended." |
