Abstract The document provides the background for EPA's rationale and technical support for selecting the constituents to be regulated in K024 waste and for developing treatment standards for those regulated constituents. The document also provides waste characterization and treatment information that serves as a basis for determining whether variances may be warranted. EPA may grant a treatment variance in cases where the Agency determines that the waste in question is more difficult to treat than the wastes upon which the BDAT treatment standards are based.
