Abstract The Regional Oxidant Model (ROM) developed in two earlier reports is applied to a series of hypothetical problems whose exact solutions are known. Comparisons are made between the model's predictions and the known solutions to assess the accuracies of the numerical algorithms tha comprise the model's predictive equations. It is found that in the case of ozone, the solutions of the numerical algorithms on which the model is based are within 10 percent of the solutions of the corresponding differential equations that describe the chemical and physical processes that the model simulates. Extensive documentation is provided in the report of the model's performance in simulating the concentrations of 23 chemical species over a 48-hour period.
