Abstract |
The report defines the Polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) problem in the Great Lakes, describes how they got there, describes models of: (1) physical/chemical fate generally; and, (2) specifically, fate of PCBs in aquatic ecosystems. Theory, data and model results are given. Also addressed in the paper are the effect of solids dependent PCB partitioning and sediment diffusion on PCBs and a description of human exposure to PCBs through consumption of fish contaminated with PCBs. |
