Abstract This Record of Decision (ROD) documents the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA's) selection of a remedial action to address the polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB)-contaminated sediments in the wetlands and creeks in the vicinity of the Pollution Abatement Services (PAS) Superfund site, The selected remedy for the fourth operable unit involves no further action with long-term monitoring. While the other remedial alternatives that were evaluated, namely, in-place containment and excavation, would actively address the PCB-contaminated sediments, they would significantly disturb productive and diverse wetland habitats located in the vicinity of the site. Therefore, as the risk levels are relatively low and PCB sediment concentrations appear to be declining over time, the no further action with long-term monitoring alternative appears to be the most appropriate remedial option at this time.
