Abstract A study was conducted by US EPA Region 3 to determine the dioxin-related impact of the Philadelphia Northwest Incinerator on public health. Specifically, it was designed to assess quantitatively the risks to public health resulting from emissions into the ambient air of dioxins as well as the potential effect of deposition of dioxins on the soil in the vicinity of the incinerator. Volume 1 is an executive summary of the study findings. Volume 2 contains contractor reports, laboratory analysis results and other documentation.
