Since 1970, when the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) was given the responsibility of regulating all aspects of pesticides, the agency has amassed, through the registration process, an extensive computer data system on most Federally registered pesticide products. Set A contains product manager assignments, pesticide products, numerically and alphabetically, pesticide companies listed alphabetically and numerically, chemical cross reference file alphabetically and numerically, tolerance file by chemical and commodity, chemical/registration number, and pesticide label data. Set B contains 24c applications by state, chemical/site/pest/24c permit number and chemical index, the site/pest/chemical/registration and chemical/site/pest/registration number sets. These sets have options for the site specificity for access, called supra qualified sites, for each subset, such as herbicides, insecticides, disinfectants, etc., for ease in retrieval. Set B cannot be used without Set A and its numerical codes. |
