Abstract |
The 12.8-acre Gulf Coast Vacuum Services site is a former vacuum truck and oil field plant in Vermilion Parish, Louisiana. From 1969 to 1980, several owners used the site as a trucking terminal to transport various metals, including waste generated from oil exploration and production activities. The site includes two open waste pits-specifically, the Washout Pit and West Pit-and two vegetated areas, known as the Former West Pit. The ROD addresses the final remedial action for all of the sources of contamination as OU1. The primary contaminants of concern affecting the soil, sediment, pit sludge, and ground water are VOCs, including benzene; other organics, including PCBs and naphthalene; and metals, including arsenic and barium. |
