Abstract |
As part of an analysis of proposed hurricane protection devices in Narragansett Bay, a study was made to determine the effects of these Lower Bay barriers on water quality. A field survey conducted during June to August of 1959, which concentrated in Upper Narragansett and Mount Hope Bays as well as in the Providence and Seekonk Rivers. A total of some 1400 samples were collected on which analyses were made and given in this report for specific conductance, temperature, dissolved oxygen and most probable number of coliform organisms (MPN). At selected stations and times, analyses were also made for biochemical oxygen demand. |
