Abstract Seven multipurpose reservoirs are proposed for the Grand River Basin. The reservoirs are planned for flood control, municipal water supply, pollution abatement, recreation, and fish and wildlife. Economic projections were made for all or parts of the following counties: Iowa - Ringgold, Decatur, Union, and Adair; Missouri - Worth, Harrison, Mercer, Gentry, Grundy, Sullivan, DeKalb, Daviess, Livingston, Linn, Caldwell, Clinton, and Chariton. The areas studied are within the Grand River drainage basin. The study was made to determine the need for and value of storage for municipal and industrial water supply and streamflow regulation for quality control. The report contains estimates of water requirements for the present and for the years 2010 and 2060.
