Abstract Because one role of the National Center of Environmental Assessment (NCEA) is to develop and improve EPA risk assessment methods, NCEA held a colloquium to provide a forum to assess current thinking about the use of genomics in risk assessment (e.g., how this technology will be applicable to risk assessors) and to determine the needs of the EPA program offices and regions that NCEA serves. NCEA defined two goals for the colloquium: (1) to identify how genomics data may improve risk assessment, and (2) to identify the current and future needs (e.g., tools, data, case studies) of the EPA program offices and regions in the area of genomics and risk assessment.
