Abstract

This Research Plan for Endocrine Disruptors was developed to serve several purposes, including: (1) To provide a roadmap to guide the Agency's efforts on endocrine disruptors, while at the same time remaining flexible enough to adjust to recommendations evolving from the CENR and NAS efforts; (2) To establish distinctions between, and priorities for, the intramural and extramural ORD research efforts; (3) To provide a research framework for the regulatory programs; (4) To inform Agency risk assessors and risk managers of the types of data being generated for endocrine disrupting chemicals; and (5) To serve as the basis for coordination and communication of research activities with other Federal agencies and other organizations affected by this issue; Concepts for a multi-year research plan for the intramural and extramural programs priorities are presented in Section V.
