Abstract As they relate to combined cycle power generation, the report gives results of an evaluation of the technical and economic considerations of atmospheric-pressure, oxygen-blown coal gasifiers (Koppers-Totzek) and pressurized, air-blown, partial-oxidation residual-oil gasifiers (Shell/Texaco). It defines the environmental impact of combinations of: (1) fossil fuel gasification systems, (2) low- and high-temperature fuel gas cleanup processes, and (3) advanced cycle power systems.
