Abstract The report summarizes the results of a Superfund Innovative Technology Evaluation (SITE) demonstration of the CF Systems critical fluid organics extraction system at the New Bedford Harbor, Mass., Superfund site. It also provides a review of those conditions which this technology is best suited for, as well as comments by CF Systems Corp. The technology depends on the ability of organic pollutants to solubilize in the process solvent, a liquified gas. The pollutants treated include polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB's) and polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons.
