Abstract |
Chlorination of water supplies has provided excellent protection against pathogenic bacteria. A part of the chlorine, however, which is added can substitute on the organic matter, and such chlorine substitution is the principal concern of this report because of its possible immediate toxic reaction and of its long term ecological damage in a river system. |
