Abstract |
The objectives of the study are to (1) assess the areal extent and frequency of forest fires in Russia from 1971 to 1991, (2) estimate present and future contributions of forest fires to atmospheric CO2-C emissions, and (3) discuss the role of Russian forest wildfire in the current global carbon cycle and possible changes in the future. |
