Abstract The report has been prepared to assist the EPA Science Advisory Board with its evaluation of the Equilibrium Partitioning method for generating sediment quality criteria. Sediment quality criteria as used in the report refer to numerical values for individual chemicals that are applicable across the range of sediments encountered in practice. They are intended to be predictive of biological effects and protective of the presence and uses of benthic organisms.
