Abstract The purpose of the document is to provide technical information and the rationale for the procedure to derive chemical-specific water quality criteria to protect wildlife species. The water quality criteria for wildlife are surface water concentrations of toxicants that will cause no significant reduction in the viability or usefulness (in a commercial or recreational sense) of a population of exposed animals utilizing waters of the Great Lakes System as a drinking and/or foraging source over several generations.
