| Abstract |
Worldwide demands on a depleting oil reserve and general inflation mean solvent shortages and increased prices. As a result, we must take a hard look at raw-materials cost-reduction devices to combat rising prices and short supply. Many small- to medium-sized industries use relatively small amounts of such materials and often do not have the engineering talent to design chemical recovery systems suitable for their needs. We will review the problem encountered by a small printing company in the Northeast and offer a practical solution to its solvent shortage and the accompanying disposal of solvent wastes. |
