Abstract This document announces the conclusions of the EPA evaluation of the Gas Saving and Emission Control Improvement device under the provisions of Section 511 of the Motor Vehicle Information and Cost Savings Act. The evaluation of the 'Gas Saving and Emission Control Improvement' device was conducted upon receiving an application for evaluation by the manufacturer. The device is a 3/4 inch thick carburetor adapter plate that is installed between the carburetor and intake manifold. The device is claimed to reduce emissions, improve fuel economy, clean the engine and make it virtually maintenance free, and improve engine power. The information supplied by the applicant was insufficient to adequately substantiate either the emissions or fuel economy benefits claimed for the device.
