| Abstract |
The report presents brief summaries of results on the following objectives: To design, select, and standardize fresh-water surface microlayer samplers; To acquire a working knowledge of the chemical and biological composition of natural fresh-water surface microlayers perturbed to varying degrees by man's activities; and To enable an assessment of the impact exerted by such microlayers upon the remainder of the water body. The three surface microlayer samplers referred to as the Surface Sampling Drum, Surface Sampling Screen, and Surface Sampling Tray have been fully standardized. |
