Abstract

This two volume set presents in detail technical design information for the following sludge treatment and disposal processes: lime stabilization, anaerobic digestion, aerobic digestion, thermal sludge conditioning, thickening, dewatering, and landfilling. The discussion of each process includes, where possible, a presentation of performance data for existing operations as well as operation and maintenance experiences and energy and cost information. Each chapter includes one or more design examples to illustrate step-by-step, the philosophy, rationale, and methodology behind the design of the particular process.
