Contents Notes |
Most steam-electric generating plants located near the ocean use sea water as coolant for their steam condenser system. During observations of coastal surface water temperatures off southern California in December 1962 with an airborne infrared radiometer, a noticeable rise in surface temperature was encountered when near warm-water outlets of generating plants, and heated discharge appeared to diffuse over the surface layer. |
