| Abstract |
The report describes the Environmental Protection Agency's program for maintaining over time the national ambient air quality standards. Background information describes the historical development of and the rationale for the program. The report presents the legal requirements for states and discusses EPA's guidance and assistance available to states. The program includes the application of various kinds of measures, consideration of the scheduling of the measures, and the need for intergovernmental coordination, public participation, and participation from special interest groups. |
