Abstract |
Relationships for sizing equalization basins for smoothing the diurnal variation of dry weather flow into municipal wastewater treatment plants are given. The construction cost for rectangular concrete basins equipped with diffused air and for plastic lined earthen basins equipped with mechanical aerators are estimated. A time dependent digital computer model is developed for simulating biological activity and the consumption of oxygen in equalization basins in which the water level varies diurnally. (Author) |
