Abstract |
Community water systems (CWSs) serve approximately 95% of the US population and potable water is considered a relevant route of exposure to anthropogenic chemicals. There is available monitoring data for important pesticides and toxic chemicals in drinking water sources (both surface and ground water). However, there is very little monitoring data for these chemicals or their degradates in finished drinking water. The goals of this research task are to: (1) provide chemical-specific information on the effects of water treatment for high-priority pollutants, (2) provide physicochemical parameters for transformation products, and (3) develop predictive models for forecasting treatment effects that cross chemical class and treatment conditions. |
