Abstract |
The Ames Salmonella typhimurium plate incorporation assay was used to evaluate the mutagenicity of organics extracted from diesel exhaust particles. Organic solvents were more efficient than physiological fluids in removing mutagens from diesel particles, with dichloromethane extracts having the greatest mutagenic activity of the solvents examined. |
