Abstract The report summarizes work completed through a cooperative agreement between the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to study methods for analyzing extreme climate events. The overall goal of this project is to develop statistical models for extreme climate events that will be useful for the construction and application of scenarios of future climate. The results of this study will provide methods for determining how the likelihood of extreme climate events may change as other more general climate parameters (e.g., the mean or variance) change.
