Abstract |
This publication summarizes findings of a workshop held September 14-18, 1981, under a Federal Interagency Energy/Environment Agreement between the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. The U.S. EPA Environmental Research Laboratory, Gulf Breeze, Florida, was host for the sessions held on Pensacola Beach, FL. Discussions focused on information pertaining to fate and effects, identification of general relationships between drilling mud fluids and the marine environment, and identification of site-specific variables likely to determine impacts of drilling muds and cuttings in various marine sites. The workshop was structured around the construction of a model simulating fate and effects of discharges from a single rig into open waters of the Gulf of Mexico. |
