Abstract |
The paper describes the planning and development of a cooperative study of air pollution in Louisville, Kentucky. The study, initiated January, 1956, is sponsored by the Jefferson County Air Pollution Control District under the technical direction of the Public Health Service in cooperation with the City-County Board of Health, the State Department of Health, the U.S. Bureau of Mines, and the U.S. Weather Bureau, and the National Bureau of Standards and with financial support from the industries of Louisville. Outlined in this paper is the plan of study which includes an inventory of air pollution sources, an odor survey, continuous air sampling, meteorological coverage, and other related activities.
