Abstract |
During the year of 1967 the Annapolis Field Office, Region III, Environmental Protection Agency, formerly the Chesapeake Technical Support Laboratory conducted four separate intensive surveys of the Patuxent River Basin in cooperation with the State of Maryland, Department of Water Resources, Water Quality Investigation and Analysis Division. The purpose of the surveys was to aid in model verification and to determine the extent of BOD loading to the river. The four intensive surveys were performed during the months of March, July-August, September and October. During each of the surveys the major sewage treatment plants were also sampled on a eight hour composite basis. The analysis presented in this report were performed by the Annapolis Field Office with the exception of a special run made on September 7th. The Dissolved Oxygen (DO) and Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) on this special run were performed by the Maryland Department of Water Resources. |
