Abstract |
The diurnal variability of waste flow and waste strength entering wastewater treatment facilities has important ramifications in the design and operation of both conventional and advanced waste treatment plants. Results are presented of a full scale (2 mgd) study of the effects of maintaining a constant flow of wastewater into a sewage treatment plant through the use of an equalization tank. The study was conducted at the Newark, New York Water Pollution Control Facilities. |
