Abstract |
The report summarized EPA's review of the petroleum refining industry with respect to discharge of toxics into waters of the U.S. Information in the report included profile of industry by refining capacity and wastewater generation rate, characteristics of wastewater streams, current wastewater treatment practices, pollution abatement technologies, cost of these technologies and EPA's assessment and recommendations of proposed controls to be required by BAT, NSPS, and pretreatment standards. EPA recommendations is the reduction of pollutants discharge via flow reduction, powdered activated carbon, etc. |
