The report determines by the most effective laboratory bioassay techniques available whether there is present in effluents from waste water treatment processes, or in surface wash or groundwater seepage from inhabited or uninhabited areas, materials capable of stimulating algal growth in surface waters; and at what concentrations they may be significant. It also demonstrates by studies on artificial ponds the applicability to Lake Tahoe of the results of laboratory assays of possible inputs to the lake. |
