Abstract | A large number of estuarine site development lagoon systems have been constructed along the New Jersey shore with little, if any, knowledge regarding the true nature of the system being created and its impact on the existing natural estuarine system. As part of a comprehensive study and evaluation of these lagoon systems, a 1972 questionnaire survey of estuarine site development lagoon homeowners in Ocean County, New Jersey was conducted to characterize lagoon development in terms of the individuals who purchase and live in lagoon homes, the use of these homes, and the utilization of the resources of the area by residents. The results indicate that residents are generally quite satisfied with their lagoon homes. |
