Abstract | The paper reviews the concept of bioresponse testing of emissions from sources of indoor air contaminants. Examples of bioresponse methods that measure human, animal, or in vitro biological responses to emissions are briefly described. The current status of development of such methods is summarized by reporting on selected ongoing research and development projects. The potential value of bioresponse methods for evaluating health and sensory comfort in relation to indoor sources is discussed and related to product testing. |
