Abstract |
The study estimates the historical and current costs of equity and total capital faced by firms by six major U.S. industries. In estimating equity costs, traditional DCF and the capital asset pricing model approaches have been used. The estimates are extrapolated into the future, under the assumption that future values will reflect an average of past risk premiums, and a methodology specified that can be used to measure the financial impact on firms of investments in pollution control equipment. |
