Abstract |
One challenging and unsolved problem associated with wastewater treatment technology is the development of a mathematical model capable of simulating the time-dependent performance of the activated sludge process, especially a representation of the time-dependent characteristics of the final settler. The goal of automatic control is to produce an effluent which is of better average quality than that which can be achieved without control and to minimize the variation of effluent quality with time. |
