Abstract | Two finite-difference schemes for the solution of unsteady, supercritical flow problems are analyzed and the results are used in proposing a method to simulate bore propagation in supercritical flow. Two nonlinear one-dimensional partial-differential equations are written for a rectangular cross section including only the gravity and friction forces. The equations are solved by employing two finite-difference schemes programmed on a digital computer. |
