Abstract |
The purpose of this current revision to the Clean Air Act Compliance Monitoring Strategy is to (1) Ensure states/locals/tribes are aware of the opportunity to use the existing CMS flexibility to maximize resources and expand coverage of regulated facilities with the most potential for significant impact on human health and the environment. (2) As the regulated source universes expand and state/local/tribal resources continue to be constrained, recognize the importance to see new ways to achieve the goals of environmental compliance and enforcement programs through compliance monitoring activities. (3) Expand the range of compliance monitoring activities that are available for determining compliance at a facility or sub-facility level to meet the compliance monitoring goals. |
