Abstract | Monkeys and rats were fed dilantin, chloroquine, or DDE in order to assess the effects of these compounds on liver microsomal metabolism of parathion and the inductive mechanisms involved. The feeding of dilantin and chloroquine affected neither the cytochrome P-450 level in, nor the parathion metabolism by, rat liver microsomes. DDE administratiion greatly increased the liver microsomal metabolism of parathion but had no effect on the cytochrome P-450 level. |
