Abstract |
This document presents the findings of an extensive study of the secondary aluminum smelting industry for the purpose of developing effluent limitations guidelines and standards of performance. The development of data and recommendations in this document relate to waste waters generated in metal cooling, fume scrubbing and wet residue processing. The best practicable control technology currently available, the best available technology economically achievable, and the best available demonstrated control technology for each of these waste water streams are presented. The effluent limitations and standards of performance corresponding to these technologies also are presented. Supporting data and rationale for development of the effluent limitations guidelines and standards of performance also are contained in this report. Costs are estimated. |
